San Martino 13 is a comfortable self catering apartment, well equipped to allow guests to enjoy proper home cooking and take advantage of the delicious local produce. It is suitable for solo guests and couples with a queen-sized double bed and en suite bathroom. There is a separate utility room with washing machine, a panoramic terrace and a garden for guest use.
Location
‘San Martino’ is a country road connecting the SP143 (Trecine to Lisciano Niccone) and the Via Della Lebbia (Lisciano Niccone to Reschio) valley road. San Martino 13 can be approached from either direction. Follow signs to San Martino from the hamlet of Crocicchie (2.4km from the apartment, if approaching from the SP143) or 1.3km uphill from the small crossroads on Via Della Lebbia (2.4km from Lisciano and 3.4km from Reschio).
Parking for one vehicle is available on the piazzetta in front of the stone house facing you as you approach the apartment .
The nearest railway station is 13km away at Passignano Sul Trasimeno, linking Florence, Perugia, Foligno, Terontola and Rome (change in Perugia) via Regionale and Regionale Veloce services. More frequent services, including Intercity trains linking Rome with Florence, Bologna, Venice and Trieste, run from Terontola-Cortona (23km).
Buses link Lisciano Niccone with Umbertide and Cortona on schooldays and Busitalia runs trains and coaches linking Perugia with Umbertide.
Sustainability
We ask guests to please use water and energy sparingly to help us minimise our impact on the local environment.
Recycling containers under the sink allow you to sort plastics, paper, metals, glass and organic waste. The solid recycling bins are located outside the apartment and the organic waste bin is on Via San Martino near the entrance to the piazzetta. Please note that glass needs to be deposited in community facilities. The nearest bottle bank to the apartment is located on Via Della Lebbia at the bottom of Via San Martino.
We have provided a reusable shopping bag under the kitchen counter. Please return this before you leave.
To minimise plastic waste, please use the glass water bottles and caddy provided (under the shelves at the upper doors) to obtain drinking water at a punto d’acqua. The nearest one is in Castel Rigone, where you will also find the fantastic Bottega grocery-deli, and fabulous views of Lago Trasimeno. There are others in Umbertide (2), Passignano, Tuoro, and Camucia. You have a choice of still or sparkling and the cost is much lower than shop prices, available 24-7. Don’t forget your small change.
Safety
On the top shelf next to the upper doors we have provided a large first aid kit, a head torch, a security light and spare batteries. If you use any of the kit contents, please let us know so that we can replenish them.
